Building a happier society together

THE ACTION FOR HAPPINESS LAUNCH EVENT

Join us for an afternoon of inspiration and activity to celebrate our launch. Bringing together members, partners, experts and the media, the event will introduce Action for Happiness, setting out our vision and plans.

Leading figures from across society will share some of their ideas about how we can create a happier society together. There will also be a showcase of exciting projects relating to happiness which Action for Happiness members are involved in, including the Happy City Initiative, DIY Happiness and many more. There'll be a range of interactive activities for everyone, including mindfulness with Headspace, the Mindapples tree and a new interactive happiness game. And of course there'll also be lots of chances to meet and share ideas with like-minded people.

Speakers

The event will be hosted by Sian Williams from BBC Breakfast and speakers are expected to include:

Timings

Doors open at 12.30pm and the event is due to finish at 4.30pm, followed by a group mindfulness activity (led by Headspace), music, drinks and networking. Lunch snacks (12.45 -1.15pm) and refreshments will be available during the event and a bar will be serving drinks afterwards until 6pm.

Tickets

As a charity we're keen to keep our costs down wherever we can. But we also want to make our launch event accessible to as many of our members as possible. So rather than charging a fixed ticket fee we're instead asking you to make a donation of your choice. It would be great if you could donate in the range of £10-20 to contribute to the costs of putting on the event. But if you feel unable to give that much (or would like to donate more) please choose any amount you feel is appropriate. Please note that in all cases Eventbrite will charge a minimum 65p admin fee. All donations very gratefully received. Tickets can be cancelled and refunded until Friday 8 April.

Getting there

The event is taking place at the wonderful Jerwood Hall at St Luke's, the home of the London Symphony Orchestra (161 Old Street, London).

The nearest tube is Old Street (Northern Line, Bank branch), which is a five minute walk away. Bus services running to Jerwood Hall are: 55, 243 (nearest stop), 43, 76, 141, 205, 214, 271. The nearest NCP parking is at the Barbican Centre. Limited disabled parking is available at the venue but must be arranged in advance – please contact events@actionforhappiness.org if you require a disabled parking spot.
